TraKSouth
Civil Contractors, LLC

formerly known as Palmetto Site and Asphalt Limited Company

Company Overview

TraKSouth Civil Contractors is expanding our track in the Southeast region. In September 2009, TraKSouth Civil Contractors, LLC acquired full ownership of Palmetto Site and Asphalt Limited Company. This acquisition increased our presence in the market as well as our resources.

TraKSouth hires and trains the best employees. We stay up-to-date with new technology, which is a key advantage over other civil contracting companies. Most of our equipment operates off of a global positioning system (GPS). This allows TraKSouth to gain a significant edge on the competition because we are able to give our customers a better product, complete jobs quicker, and be more cost effective.

TraKSouth provides quality work on time and on budget. Our projects range in size and scope from the excavation and installation of simple utility construction projects and specialized road repairs, to multi-million dollar site work projects in conjunction with new development of retail centers and military bases. This diversity of site services allows us to be a preferred site work contractor for general contractors and developers who desire a single source for all of their site work needs.

TraKSouth prides itself on being a fully integrated site contractor experienced in all phases of site development. TraKSouth can offer a Complete Site Work Package that includes:

Survey - A key element to being able to perform accurate and timely site construction is a knowledgeable surveying staff using modern equipment. We employee a full survey team that is dedicated to using accurate computerized survey points and ensuring these points are accurately placed in the field. Also, our equipment has state-of-the-art positioning systems to guarantee grade accuracy during the grading process without a surveyor present.

Utilities - TraKSouth builds and installs all types of sewer, potable and fire service water and storm systems. TraKSouth has dedicated utility crews performing more than $3 million per year in on-going utilities construction volume. Our utility crews have confined space and trenching certifications to ensure that the job is done safely and effectively.

Grading - The key to a successful grading project is good equipment and skilled operators. That equipment, combined with the years of experience of our operators, insures an efficient operation and timely completion of projects. We are experienced in high volume grading jobs involving the import, export and on-site movement of hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of dirt.

Paving, Asphalt & Site Concrete - TraKSouth has successfully completed numerous paving and site concrete projects of various sizes. As with all the other areas of our site work, we take the quality of our asphalt paving and concrete work very seriously. We purchase the specified materials and use the best crews to accomplish all paving needs.

Grassing and Erosion Control - TraKSouth is fully equipped to handle any grassing needs that our clients may have. We take the proper steps to ensure that the best grass, whether it is temporary Rye, millet, or permanent Bermuda is used on our project sites. A key element on any site work project is erosion control. At TraKSouth, we take all necessary actions to ensure that surrounding properties stay clean of any sediment, debris, oil, and fuel that are used on any construction site. Also, we go the extra mile to protect and secure wetland areas on the job. Our onsite superintendents and foremen are Level 1 Erosion Control Certified in the state of Georgia.

Methodology

At TraKSouth Civil Contractors, our projects start with a complete itemized evaluation of our estimated cost to complete the project. From there a complete schedule is created and adopted by our project managers, site superintendents, and field personnel. As the project begins, our Safety Manager starts the process of confirming training to meet guidelines of best practices per OSHA recommendations and industry standards. TraKSouth’s Safety Manager remains connected to the project on a daily basis by filling out reports on equipment, materials, and employees. Site supervisors conduct safety inspections and pre-task planning meetings prior to beginning a shift. We believe our success depends on good communication with the owners of the project, concerning the financial goals, schedule, and all safety procedures as well as our employees.
